Together® started in Rochester, N.Y. in 1974 and began franchising in 1981. The company realized explosive growth as the number of singles in the U.S. approached 80 million people in the late 1980s and early 1990s.

The foundation for this growth was, and continues to be, that successful romantic relationships are based on compatibility.

In 1997 Together® underwent a complete corporate reorganization—resulting in the corporation being purchased by two of its franchisees in 1998. The company is now headquartered in Ellicott City, Maryland and continues to focus on servicing the needs of singles worldwide through the expansion of their worldwide network.
