Fact Sheet for Together/The Right One

The Service

  • The Right One performs extensive surveys of members - including written surveys and focus groups. In essence, they have created the first personal introduction service developed by its members.
  • Personality profiles are also required to ensure compatible matches. The company developed proprietary software known as The Right Match ® system, which allows relationship specialists to match members on a wide range of criteria including smoking/non-smoking, job description, age, height, religion, hobbies, etc.
  • The company does not engage in high pressure sales tactics and strives to provide a comfortable atmosphere for all clients.
  • A membership guarantee is offered to all members and additional matches are provided above and beyond a client's membership, if they are not completely satisfied.

The Merger:

  • Effective on April 1, 1999
  • 15 offices of The Right One merged with 76 national franchises of the Together dating service.
  • The combination makes this the largest dating service in the World with 91 offices.

Why the merger is important?

  • It creates North America's largest introduction service and offers customers a more consistent product, a greater number of potentially compatible mates and more flexibility in transferring memberships to another geographic region.
  • Franchise owners will benefit from an increased corporate identity, expanded marketing efforts and national programs that ensure an ethical and results-driven service.
  • In the coming months, the newly merged companies plan to use their strength and market dominance to help establish a new trade organization that will advocate stringent codes of operation for dating services.
  • Each office will retain their existing name to avoid customer confusion

Who is in charge of the merged companies?

  • Together's Brad Megahan, with 18 years of industry experience, will serve as the company's Chairman of the Board and President.
